Is Science Merely Applied Engineering (here) reviews how Sir Francis Bacon was inspired by the example of the mechanical arts in setting modern science on its present course. John J. Calvert from the US Patent & Tradmark Office (USPTO) was on campus today and stopped and had lunch with iFoundry co-directors Andreas Cangellaris and Dave Goldberg. After lunch, Andreas interviewed John on his evangelical mission to discuss the importance of intellectual property to young engineers and inventors.
