The first in a new InfoStructure series (intersections between social and technological systems) will host a lecture by Jonathan Sterne of McGill University titled, The MP3 as Standard Object, today (October 12, 2009) from 12:30-1:30pm in Room B02 of Coordinated Science Laboratory (1308 W. Main Street).
Jonathan teaches in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies and the History and Philosophy of Science Program at Mcgill University. He is author of The Audible Past: Cultural Origins of Sound Reproduction (Duke, 2003), and other articles on media, technologies and the politics of culture.
