Matt Gornick, an iFoundry student advisor for the Entrepreneurship and Innovation iTeam, will be speaking about his experiences with start up companies on 5 April at 8pm in Siebel Center room 3401. Gornick is the CEO of OrangeQC and will be presenting about his company, work style and ability to balance school work and the start-up simultaneously. His presentation,  titled “Rework College” will be a part of the “Guerilla Star-up Series” developed by the Illini Entrepreneurship Network.

The EI (Entrepreneurship and Innovation) iTeam in collaboration with Minogi will be hosting the Creative Entrepreneurial Engineering Workshop on 17 April 2010. The convention will be held at 924 East 57th Street in Chicago and will last between 1pm and 5pm. Participants will join featured speaker Professor Laura Hollis of the University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign, Carl Nordgren of Minogi and Zach Kaplan of Inventables and participate in panels and discussions covering start-up processes, learn how to avoid start-up pitfalls and network with creative entrepreneurs world wide. TEC TEN Symposium on Entrepreneurship

The Technology Entrepreneur Center is holding a daylong exploration of entrepreneurship, the TEC TEN Symposium, on Saturday 24 April from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the iHotel and Conference Center. iFoundry students and Minogi co-hosted the Creative Entrepreneurship Workshop on 17 April at the University of Chicago. The conference, which was free to attend and took place between 1pm and 5pm, discussed raising capital, phases of entrepreneurship and subconscious creativity. Attendees at the conference included students from the University of Illinois, Northwestern, IIT, Depaul, Knox College and other area schools. To view video from the event, visit here.
